we just got news thats so good - danceradio.gr are going to be hosting and streaming funkcartel running mixes on their web-radio - their residents include steve lawler - carl cox and john digweed so this is an outright honour for the cartel as new artists breaking onto the scene - we have already thanked them for the chance to join our mentors and we will still be thanking them for years to come - excuse us whilst we kiss the sky 2 times ....
[this is funny] we have this sound design problem at the moment and here's the deal....... we have a synthesizer that's used to play another synthesizer that has 8 oscillators running through it and two LFO units to create the sound for a single track - each oscillator has around 8 main options for settings including feed - feedback and frequency etc - effects are applied to this sound and it's hooked up to an arpeggio that runs up and down 3 octaves - that sound is then transferred to a sequencer where reverb is added and another synth is adding some filter effects to it utilizing sine waves and there is an audio unit being applied to the track to set the EQ - somewhere along the line there is some white noise going on which is quite nice but unwanted - here's the problem - how on earth are you supposed to eliminate the white noise when you have no idea where it's coming from amidst all that synthesis ? answers on a postcard please to - what the hell is going on - synthesizer street - audio effect town - near london

so we've been a bit quiet - calmer coma - no - only in mood - work load is revolutionary - we are still working with nasa sound production toys to mix down all the tracks for final release versions - very funky - making genre specific mixes for e.p release - dubs - vocal mixes - extended mixes - radio edits - album versions - we're re-arranging - adding - developing - re-designing - fine tuning - adding effects that could not be done with demos due to file restrictions on up-loads and it's damn hard work but so much fun at the same time - as new artists we have lots to learn still and doing it the hard way sure is the hard way - not much sleep is going on in the collective camp and there's some very tired panda eyes around looking rather hazy and dazed
demo adds are going to slow right down for a while because we are mixing and mastering all the funkcartel albums which is some pretty heavy work load to put it mildly - there are now 11 albums and we have to finalize the arrangements - we have to finish and finalize all the lead and backing vocals - we have to sort out all the detail that matters - demos are not such a big deal but when mastering is being done, it all gets really technical - frequencies - dynamics - volume levels for radio mixes - cd mixes - club mixes etc etc etc all influence the mix-down and takes a hell of a long time - so please don't think we've got lazy or given up at all - we are still doing it and we're still working hard to break as new artists - when all the albums have been finished we will start planning the UK club tour for 2009 - we shall also be working on videos and club visuals to make sure the live shows have some good entertainment value - sander kleinenberg need not worry that we will steal his thunder - but we will put in a few electrical storms to add fuel to his fire
these are now reputedly the best clubs on planet earth - london and ibiza reign supreme - no surprise there then. 1.Fabric 2.Space 3.Amnesia 4.The End 5.Womb 6.Panorama Bar 7.Pacha 8.Guvernment 9.Warung 10.Watergate - Armin Van Buuren is on danceradio.gr tonight and Carl Cox streams saturday
